Islamabad: As Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan is set to form the government in Pakistan, his third and current wife Bushra Maneka broke her silence for the first time after the crucial election on July 25. Maneka has congratulated her husband as well as the country for electing a leader who will work for the common man.
Khan’s third wife said, as reported by Deccan Chronicle, “Allah Almighty had given the nation a leader who takes care of the rights of the people.”
Maneka also said that Khan would safeguard the lives of the common people of Pakistan, including widows, poor and orphans. Khan’s first wife and mother of her children, Jemima Goldsmith has congratulated him as the numbers started to move in Khan’s favour.
She took to Twitter and said, “22 years later, after humiliations, hurdles and sacrifices, my sons’ father is Pakistan’s next PM. It’s an incredible lesson in tenacity, belief & refusal to accept defeat. The challenge now is to remember why he entered politics in the 1st place. Congratulations @ImranKhanPTI (sic)”
Khan divorced Jemima after nine years of marriage in 2004 and have two sons. She currently lives in the United Kingdom working as a senior journalist. After ten years, Khan got married to Pakistani journalist and BBC presenter Reham Khan in 2015.
The marriage did not last for a long time as they both separated on a bitter note just 10 months after the marriage. Reham has accused Imran Khan on many occasions over various issues.
In a recent opinion piece, Khan has said, “It is impossible to be with someone who compromises his integrity and becomes the butt of jokes. But Pakistan, however, is now stuck with him. They have no option of walking away from their PM-to-be like I did.”
