Ujjain: On a day when devotees from all across the country thronged Ahmedabad, for the world famous ‘Rath Yatra’, Madhya Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will begin a yatra of his own on Saturday. Chouhan will kick off the first phase of the ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ along with BJP president Amit Shah from Ujjain today.
Congress will follow-up with a ‘Pol Khol Yatra’ on July 18 to “expose” Chouhan government’s failures in delivering good governance in the state.

The yatra will cover a journey of 300 Kms and will pass through 230 Assembly constituencies in Madhya Pradesh will goes to polls later this year. It will culminate on September 25.
Yesterday, Chouhan performed the prayer ceremony for the two vehicles converted to chariots for the purpose. One chariot will be deployed in central Madhya Pradesh, Malwa and Nimar and the other one in Bundelkhand, Mahakaushal and Vindhya regions, a BJP spokesperson told PTI.
Congress slammed the Chouhan’s yatra as a “BJP campaign at taxpayers’ money”. To counter Chouhan’s yatra campaign, Congress will start its ‘Pol Khol Yatra’ from July 18. Congress leaders will track the footsteps of MP CM in the places he goes and tell people how they’ve been duped by his government in the state.
The Congress plans to “expose” the Chouhan government’s failures in delivering good governance in the state and how it is responsible for various problems in the state. Like Chouhan, Congress too will begin its yatra from Ujjain. Congress state president Kamal Nath will flag off the ‘pol khol yatra’ on July 18.
Chouhan had earlier conducted the ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ ahead of 2013 and 2008 assembly elections.
