After an impactful trailer, the makers of Akshay Kumar’s Gold are releasing the first song of the film on July 6. Titled Naino Ne Baandhi, the song is expected to be a slow romantic number featuring Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy. Gold marks Mouni’s first Bollywood film. Her chemistry with Akshay has been much appreciated so far. Shot in Mumbai, Naino Ne Baandhi is sung by Yasser Desai and written by Arko.
Sharing a still from the song on Instagram, Mouni spared us a glimpse into the vintage romance between her and Akshay. In Gold, Akshay Kumar plays an eccentric Bengali hockey coach named Tapan Das (inspired by hockey manager AC Chatterjee) and Mouni plays his judicious and supportive wife.
Directed by Reema Kagti, Gold tells the story of Independent India’s first Olympic gold medal win as a free nation. The film also stars Vineet Kumar Singh, Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Sunny Kaushal and Nikita Dutta. The film begins in 1936 and traces 12 crucial years in the transformation of India from a British dominion to a free state.
Speaking about the experience of working with Akshay Kumar in Gold, Mouni Roy had earlier told indianexpress.com, “(It was) wonderful. He is so sincere in every shot. First of all I want to say that you feel so lucky to just stand in the same frame as him and every day on the film set, I have learnt something. I have immense love and respect for that man. I am so glad to be a part of the film.”
