Jio GigaFiber Effect: BSNL Revises FTTH Broadband Plans To Include Up To 3500GB Data

BSNL Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) broadband plans have received an update and now offer up to 3.5TB of data. Four of the BSNL FTTH broadband plans have faced revision keeping in mind the launch of Jio GigaFiber FTTH broadband services and Airtel V-fiber services. BSNL Rs. 3,999, Rs. 5,999, Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 16,999 FTTH broadband plans now include additional data at greater speeds.

BSNL Rs. 16,999 FTTH broadband plan now includes 3500GB of data at up to 100 Mbps speeds. Following the exhaustion of data, speeds reduce to 10Mbps. Earlier, the plan offered 3000GB data at up to 100Mbps speeds with FUP speeds of 8Mbps.

BSNL Rs. 9,999 FTTH broadband plan now offers 2250GB of data at up to 100Mbps. Following data consumption, speed reduces to 8Mbps. Earlier, the plan included up to 2000GB data at up to 80 Mbps download speeds followed by 6Mbps speed post data consumption.

BSNL Rs. 5,999 FTTH broadband plan includes 1250GB data at 70Mbps download speeds. Post data consumption, speed drops to 6Mbps. Earlier, the same plan offered 1000GB data at 60Mbps speeds and post-consumption speed throttled to 4Mbps.

Finally, BSNL Rs. 3,999 plan now includes 750 GB of data (earlier 500GB) at 60 Mbps speeds (earlier 50 Mbps). Following data consumption, download speed throttles at 4Mbps.

Meanwhile, the state-run telecom operator is also offering its prepaid mobile customers on select plans additional 2GB data per day, and the offer has been extended till September 15. BSNL 2GB data per day freebie is valid on 10 prepaid plans which include unlimited plans and STVs. The offer was introduced following Jio’s announcement of additional 1.5GB data per day for its prepaid customers back in June.
