New Delhi: Intelligence agencies have received an input suggesting that two Khalistani terrorists are planning to target Parliament House in New Delhi. In the wake of the input, the national capital has been put under a multi-layer security blanket. The intel suggested that the terrorists will arrive in Delhi in an explosives-laden white Innova having UP registration number.
The terrorists have been identified as Lakhwinder Singh and Parminder Singh (both in their late 40s). The duo, headed towards Delhi from Nepal border, have received training in assembling IEDs (improvised explosive device).
Meanwhile, an informer has also shared the similar input. According to The Times of India, the caller identified himself as one Iqbal. The call from the number 75349071** was traced to Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar.
The timing of the alert coincided with another alert by the agencies that said that terrorists could use a stolen car or a government vehicle to carry out an IED attack around Independence Day.
As per officials, the two names given by the informer resemble the ones sought out in Nabha jailbreak of Punjab in November 2016. It is being verified if these are the same two men.
