The Met department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at few places in Uttarakhand during the next 48 hours. The forecast stated that heavy rainfall was likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Chamoli, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar and Pithoragarh districts in the next 48 hours.  An advisory has also been issued from August 2 onwards. The authorities concerned have been advised to monitor the situation closely and allow restricted movement of commuters in the hills besides ensuring safety of people in the low-lying areas. Meanwhile rains continue to lash various parts of the state. A youth was killed after he hit by a boulder at Patgaon in Tehri district this morning. The victim, Vikram (45), was driving a scooter when he was hit by a boulder. He died on spot.  Incessant rainfall has triggered landslides in various parts of the state blocking several roads. Two youths were killed after they were buried under the debris of a landslide on Almora-Haldwani highway at Bhoriyabend in Almora district on Monday. The victims were going to Almora from Haldwani on a motorcycle when the mishap occurred.
