Nokia 3310 4G has been unveiled in China market and may get a global release date late at MWC 2018. The new Nokia 3310 4G brings the most demanded feature – 4G support- to iconic feature phone refresh. HMD Global’s decision to launch Nokia 3310 4G first in China doesn’t come as a surprise as the Nokia 6, which was company’s comeback smartphone, was also unveiled in the same market.

Nokia 3310 4G details

The Nokia 3310 was rumoured to receive a refresh with 4G support for months now and few weeks back had received certification in China. There’s no word on the pricing of the Nokia 3310 4G as of now but we can expect the feature phone to go on sale in the coming weeks. For global release, we expect HMD Global to announce details at MWC 2018 slated to begin late February. To recall, HMD Global announced the legendary Nokia 3310 refresh at MWC last year.

Nokia 3310 4G is the third variant of the feature phone as the company previously unveiled 3G variant of the handset as well. The Nokia 33103G was launched in Australia at AUD 89.5 (roughly Rs. 4,600), and a ‘global average price’ was EUR (roughly Rs. 5,320). The 4G variant of the Nokia 3310 is likely to be priced higher than the regular variant which was priced at Rs. 3,310 in India.

Nokia 3310 4G specifications

The Nokia 3310 4G has been launched in Fresh Blue and Deep Black colours. Under the hood, the Nokia 3310 4G runs on YunOS, which is a tweaked version of Android by Alibaba. We expect it to run Nokia Series 30+ OS when it launches outside China. The 3G Nokia 3310 model ran Feature OS which was Java based.

Talking about specifications, the Nokia 3310 4G almost comes with identical innards as the original version. It features a 2.4-inch QVGA display and packs 256MB of RAM. There’s 512MB storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 64GB). The Nokia 3310 4G sports a 2-megapixel camera sensor at the back and also comes with an LED flash.

It packs 1200mAh removable battery. The Nokia 3310 4G supports VoLTE and it can be turned into a portable Wi-Fi hotspot. The 4G Nokia 3310 comes with Silver keyboard theme and sports matte texture at the back. There’s 3.5mm audio jack on the device as well. The phone comes with FM Radio and MP3 player. The Nokia 3310 4G supports single SIM. There’s no mention of popular Snake game on the Nokia website but we expect the handset to come preloaded with it.
