OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphones are now receiving the OxygenOS 5.1.4 system update. The update brings the July security patch along with improvements to the camera photo clarity, a new group messaging among others. As mentioned, the update is slowly rolling out to the general population over the next few days. OxyygenOS 5.1.4 update to the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T also brings sleep standby optimisations.

OxygenOS 5.1.4 update for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T brings changes the latest July security patch (2018.7) and has also added sleep standby optimisations. This can be found under Settings> Battery> Battery optimisation> Advanced optimisation and Sleep standby optimisation. These are the two latest updates to the System. In addition, the camera is also updated and OnePlus claims better photo quality. With the Messaging app, users can now perform group messaging. Finally, the Gallery app gets bug fixes.

With sleep standby optimisation turned on, the system reportedly intelligently identifies sleep pattern based on the phone’s usage. Thus, the phone will then turn off the network during specific periods of inactivity, which effectively reduces standby power consumption. Moreover, the phone will automatically cancel any network restrictions and get the phone out of Sleep Standby before a user wakes up so that they don’t miss out on any notifications.
