For a lot of Pixel and Nexus users, Google Now has been one place that used to give them a sense of upcoming day with cards showing appointments, pick up package time, traffic to work, and more. Over years, Google Now functionalities have integrated into Google Assistant and today, the company has started rolling out a new visual snapshot feature that will give an overview of the day when you open the Google Assistant app on your smartphone.
“The new visual snapshot provides curated, helpful information based on the time of day, location, and your recent interactions with the Assistant, and will be available on Android and iOS devices in all languages supported by the Google Assistant,” wrote Deniz Binay, Product Manager, Google Assistant in a blog post on Tuesday.
The new visual snapshot will provide curated, contextual information based on the time, location, and recent queries from the user. The new feature will be available on both Android and iOS devices in all languages supported by the Google Assistant.
One of the biggest advantages of the new visual snapshot in Assistant will be it will start showing information based on your daily routine without checking or manually doing anything.
The new visual snapshot can be accessed on Android by tapping on icon in the corner of the window after opening the Google Assistant app. On iOS, the new feature can be accessed right away when app is launched.
The new visual snapshots will start rolling to users on Android and iOS starting this week. You can expect the new feature to be available to all users in the coming weeks as the rollout is gradual and it may take some time.
