We bet even Ranbir Kapoor wouldn’t have imagined in his wildest dream that Sanju will turn out to be a such a huge box office juggernaut. So much so, that the film is even challenging and breaking the several all-time records by some of the biggest Bollywood grossers like Dangal, Tiger Zinda Hai, PK and even Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Sanju box office collections are on an all-time high, in just 4 days the biopic has made more than Rs 145 crore and is expected to go past Rs 165 crore once day 5 numbers come in.
As the biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt is heading towards becoming one of the biggest blockbusters ever if not the biggest, it must be a sigh of relief for Ranbir Kapoor who was going through a bad patch for five years now. His big success was 2013’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Of course, there was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in between but it was a Karan Johar’s success rather than Ranbir Kapoor.
While we are waiting for the official day 5 figures, here are all the records broken by Sanju at the box office so far:
Biggest opener of 2018
Sanju opened to Rs 34.75 crore beating the previous best opening day numbers of Avengers: Infinity War (Rs 31.30 crore) and Race 3 (Rs 28.50 crore).
