On one side there is Amitabh Bachchan, rightly considered as the “Shahenshah” of Bollywood, on the other hand, there is Shah Rukh Khan, fondly called as the “Badshah” of Bollywood, fireworks are bound to happen when the two collaborate on the big screen. And that’s what happened when we saw them together in Mohabbatein, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… and several other films.
The two were last seen together in Bhoothnath Returns where Shah Rukh Khan only appeared in a cameo. And now, the two are all set to collaborate on Sujoy Ghosh’s next directorial, which looks to be a revenge thriller, titled Badla.
The film will also mark the reunion of Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan after Pink. While Pannu and Bachchan will be seen sharing screen space with each other in Badla, Shah Rukh will only be reuniting with Amitabh as a producer of the film and not an actor.
Talking about Shah Rukh’s involvement with the film as a producer, director Sujoy Ghosh told Mumbai Mirror, “When you get an actor like Amitabh Bachchan, half your battle is won as he’s every director’s delight and I’m extremely excited to direct him. Also, I have been trying to work with Taapsee for a while. This is the perfect story to collaborate with her on. My excitement is doubled now that the film is being produced by SRK. I couldn’t have asked for a better team and now it is time for work.”
An official adaptation of a Spanish film The Invisible Guest, Badla, said Sujoy, was superlative material for Amitabh Bachchan, “I thought it was superlative material for AB Sir and pitched it to him. Taapsee was already on board, SRK also loved the source material and the collaboration happened seamlessly.” Talking about Taapsee, he further quipped, “This is my first film with Taapsee and after the shoot finishes, I’ll get her some mental help. AB sir is cool, the coolest of them all.”

Finally, on the question of whether Shah Rukh Khan will also be seen making in appearance on-screen alongside Big B, Sujoy said, “SRK is the producer but like hell I am going to stop him from making an appearance.”
