India’s erstwhile pronounced batsman Yuvraj Singh has voiced his thoughts on the rising criticism of the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. With rising discontent among players regarding the substandard approach of the country’s apex cricket governing body BCCI and Indian team management towards the fitness of players, senior players are growing disinclined towards the rehab and training at the academy.
As per media reports, the situation bloated after ace Indian pacers Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have been struggling to maintain their shape. While Shami failed to clear the yo-yo test which is a must requisite for players to get selected for any outings, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s back injury saw him struggle in his England’s tour.
Kumar, who aggravated his nick during the final ODI against England at Headingley has to sit out from the upcoming first three Tests. Yuvraj, however, has come out backing NCA as he took to his social media accounts to share his ordeal post-cancer.
Yuvi wrote,”Hearing criticisms abt NCA. I wud like to share my experience that the reason why I was able to bounce back after cancer was the national cricket academy a great facility created by
@bcci to help players recover from injuries with the help of best Physios & trainers in the country.”

Yuvraj’s touch is a distant memory now as he last fashioned the Indian jersey in West Indies in 2017. Ever since his failure to clear the yo-yo test, Yuvraj’s comeback to the Playing XI of the Men in Blue now seems a paradox.
Meanwhile, India will take on England in the first Test of the five-match series from August 1 at Edgbaston san their ace bowler Bhuvi. Rohit Sharma too has been axed from the 18 man Test squad given the flat track bully’s recent failure to bully the red ball in South Africa.
While Wriddhiman Saha has been replaced by Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant got a maiden Test call-up. The chinaman Kuldeep Yadav too has been included in the squad besides Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.
